Smaller than I had expected but still great work

Long story short: my boyfriend is from North Carolina and I am from California. He already had one of these for NC from a previous purchase, we are moving in together and wanted to get a CA one to hang both on the wall. Just received my order and was a little disappointed at the quality of the finished product versus the quality of the first one he had. I understand no two of these are alike but the edges of the wood were very rough, we had to sand down the new piece extensively. I also noticed the NC one had the company name branded on the back of the wood which I had thought was a nice touch, the CA piece came in with the name just scrawled in pen on the back. Finally, the CA piece did not come with a hanger attached on the back of it like the description promised. The piece is nice once sanded though.
